The Pediatric Residency Training Program at UCSF Fresno Medical Education Program is accepting applications for a graduating pediatric resident to serve as Chief Resident during the 2024-2025 academic year. The Pediatric 4th Year Chief / Junior Faculty are the first line contact persons for the residents on the pediatric services and are the liaisons between the faculty and the pediatric residents. The Chiefs are available to address resident concerns and to offer support and practical advice to residents. The Chief Residents are junior faculty members and attend on the pediatric inpatient and outpatient services and report to the Program Directors and Chief of Pediatrics. Activities also include administering the resident call schedule, leading Morning Report teaching sessions and generally playing an active role in the education of residents and medical students. Participation and mentoring by senior faculty in areas for individual professional development in a particular area of medicine/medical education and leadership is expected.

Fresno is the only major city in the country with close proximity to three national parks, including renowned Yosemite National Park.
