William H. Likosky, M.D., FAAN, FAHA, attended the University of Vermont for both his undergraduate and medical school training, graduating cum laude. Dr. Likosky attended Yale University Hospitals for his Neurology residency and fellowship, and Medicine internship and residency.

Dr. Likosky previously was a Clinical Instructor in Neurology at University California San Francisco, a Clinical Associate Professor of Neurology at Stanford University and a Clinical Associate Professor of Neurology at the University of Washington.

Dr. Likosky is board certified in Neurology by the American Board of Neurology & Psychiatry with a subspecialty in Vascular Neurology.

While Dr. Likosky was the Medical Director of Stroke and Telestroke at the Swedish Neuroscience Institute in the Swedish Medical Center in Seattle, WA, he developed a stroke program which subsequently received JCAHO certification in Washington, and one of the first 40 nationally. This multidisciplinary, multi-site program cares for 2500 patients per year. The program targets many domains, such as high quality patient care, staff enablement to perform optimally, and cost/utilization appropriate care.

The program won during 2005 the coveted Earnest A Codman Award provided by JCAHO for excellence in disease management, a Peterson award for quality of care, and during 2006 an Annual Achievement Award for Get with the Guidelines given by the American Heart/Stroke Association.

In his free time, Dr. Likosky enjoys family activities with his wife Marilyn including cooking, traveling, time with his two Yorkshire Terriers, playing piano and authorship of historical non-fiction.
