Lucas Seiler MD

Orthopaedic Hand Surgery

Lucas Seiler, MD, specializes in surgery of the hand and is board certified in orthopaedic surgery.

Dr. Seiler attended the University of Nebraska Omaha to earn his Bachelor of Arts degree in biology with a minor in chemistry. Upon completing his undergraduate education, Dr. Seiler continued his education at the University of Nebraska Omaha to complete his Doctor of Medicine.

After medical school, he matched with UCSF Fresno into the Orthopaedic Surgery residency program, where he was awarded the Resident Scholarly Award and the Steven Parks Leadership Award for his dedication to patient care. Dr. Seiler then completed a fellowship in hand surgery at the University of Iowa College of Medicine to expand upon his skills and to allow him to provide expert care to patients in need.

In addition to providing expert care to hand surgery patients, Dr. Seiler cares deeply for his community in other ways. While completing his medical degree, Dr. Seiler coordinated a charity golf tournament that raised over $25,000 for the UNMC-affiliated ‘SHARING Clinic’ which provides free primary health care to underprivileged populations in the Omaha area. Additionally, Dr. Seiler recently took part in a surgical mission trip. He accompanied a hand surgery team to rural Honduras to perform hand and upper extremity operations on children in need. Dr. Seiler and his team performed over 30 operations over five days.

When Dr. Seiler is not in the office caring for patients, working on research, or volunteering his time for community organizations, you can find him out on a jog, enjoying the outdoors, or spending quality time with his wife and two children.

Dr. Seiler is fluent in English and is currently working on his Spanish proficiency.
