The UCSF Fresno Pediatric Residency Program emphasizes academic excellence, a supportive environment that encourages personal growth and a diverse clinical experience.
Pediatricians care for a truly unique patient population. Throughout the early stages of life children of all ages go through periods of intense growth, development and maturation. The treatment of children is vastly different than the treatment of an adult. Typically, diseases commonly observed in children are rare in adults while diseases observed in adults are rarely seen in children. Pediatric physicians are tasked with navigating the unique nature of children.
Recognized as experts in the field of pediatic patient care, our faculty physicians work closely alongside the future leaders in pediatric care to provide a hands-on experience which engenders mature decision making early in the training process. As a Resident, you will help run an active, urban general pediatric
faculty practice, learn inpatient medicine in a state-of-the-art Children’s Hospital with the depth and breadth of both clinical and cultural experiences second to none. It will change your life.
Those fortunate enough to be a part of the Pedatric Residency Program learn to become excellent clinicians with a strong knowledge base in general pediatrics, a comprehensive understanding of the tools needed to continue using evidence-based medicine, and the confidence to execute these skills in an effective manner throughout their career.
