A department unlike any other. Utilizing the experience and education of our providers, we have rapidly become one of the most trusted leaders for dermatologic care in the United States.
The Department of Dermatology is an established, world-class academic center dedicated to the understanding, treatment and management of the hair, skin and nails.
The mission of the department is to be recognized as a world leader in the care of hair, nail and skin conditions through exceptional clinical service, outstanding education and training and visionary research efforts. Our program has quickly become one of the most dynamic in the country because of four core areas of focus: education, clinical care, community service and research.
We take education and the education of future providers very seriously. Our faculty is comprised of some of the most respected dermatologists in the country. Each individual is dedicated to the growth and development of the practice of dermatology. We are able to stay on the cutting edge of new procedures and treatments while maintaining a quality level that is unequalled in the Central Valley. As a medical student, patient, resident or fellow, it’s easy to see why so many people choose the Department of Dermatology for their patient care, career and continuing education.
Central California, known as the Central Valley, is home to one of the most unique patient populations in the United States. It is a virtual melting pot of socio-economic and ethnic diversity. Our providers are exposed to a wide-range of symptomology on a routine basis with over 20,000 yearly patient visits.
Our dedication to the patient goes beyond the walls of our clinic. We are proud to be active members of our community and routinely use our expertise to educate and help those in need. We want to keep our fingers on the pulse of the community. We are able to achieve this by making certain that our community activities are diverse. This allows us to understanding what issues and concerns are important to the community around us.
While our focus is centered on the community, we make every effort to perform and participate in meaningful research efforts. Our department members are encouraged to develop research methodologies and enact efforts to explore hypotheses’.
Dermatologists treat disease, injury or deformity through invasive, minimally-invasive or non-invasive methods which exposes them to a wide variety of symptomology. Dermatologists provide service for everything from acne and psoriasis to skin cancer and hair loss.
