The University Obstetrics & Gynecology Center offers obstetric and gynecology services to all women, with adolescents being a focus. We offer a comprehensive program for the evaluation, specialized treatment and follow-up care of gynecologic problems in adolescents.

The types of items we see at the University Obstetrics & Gynecology Center are:

• Abdominal pain
• Adolescent pregnancy
• Birth defects involving the reproductive organs
• Breast abnormalities, including asymmetry or pain
• Chronic genital rashes or itching
• Heavy, frequent or painful menstrual periods
• Injuries involving the reproductive organs
• Irregular or infrequent menstrual periods
• Ovarian cysts or pelvic masses
• Pelvic endometriosis
• Signs of delayed sexual maturation
• Signs of early sexual maturation
• Unusual appearance of the genitals
• Vaginal discharge, drainage or odor

In the first gynecologic examination, the physician will educate the adolescent patient about the breast and pelvic exam, answer questions about development and provide reassurance and information about health and sexuality.
